Kaito
Sylvaen's Vishimtar The Fallen
Kaito is our first Tamaskan. He is from Sylvaen Tamaskans in Croatia, born in 2014. I first started following Sylvaen when she had her first litter. I met her on a virtual pet site many years ago and became interested in the breed through her. The Tamaskan is a breed in progress, with an open stud book to continue working toward better health and a closer appearance to the wolf. The International Tamaskan Registry has strict health requirements, which is the main reason I got behind the breed, having lost my last dog to a preventable genetic health condition due to poor breeding. Kaito is the reason I got into the Tamaskan breed and in 2022, I produced my first litter of Tamaskans under the kennel name KAIZA TAMASKANS.

ErzaErza of Kaiza
Erza is our Smokoku, as we call her. Her sire, Kaiju, is a Shikoku Ken import and her mom, Smokey, is a mix of Malamute and Irish Wolfhound, with a tiny bit of Husky and Grey Wolf. She is from Brad and Jen in New Mexico and was bred for a personal project referred to as "Back Country Companions" to develop a more versatile dog with specific traits. We are thankful for the opportunity to get Erza as I have always wanted a Shikoku, but a purebred Shikoku didnt fit us well enough to justify it. However, this particular mix is really perfect for us! She has grown into a fantastic, gorgeous dog and also went on to be a Foundation Dog for the Tamaskan breed in 2022.

BoBo is our Labrador, Standard Poodle mix. He was from an oops litter between a coworkers dogs in 2016. My husband fell in love with him when we went to drop off a couple Australorp roosters. He is a goofy boy who always wants to be center of attention and to be with his humans and would die before not fetching that ball!

NEZUKOKaiza's Noble Nezuko
Nezuko is a G1 Tamaskan bred by myself out of Erza (Foundation Dog) and a Tamaskan male in 2022. She is a wonderful dog, calm, gentle, affectionate. She has a wonderful structure, with some very minor faults. She will hopefully go on to contribute further to the Tamaskan breed pending health and temperament evaluations in 2024.

MOJOMojo is a juvenile Zebra Carpet Python. He is a typical young Carpet Python, who is feisty and does not enjoy handling, but is just as happy to hang out in his large enclosure and look pretty.
|
HOPPERHopper is a juvenile Milk Frog who lives in a bioactive enclosure on my craft table and silently judges me while I work.

Regal jumpersDuring the unintentional break in 2021, I took on dog breeding, as well as an interest in jumping spiders. I started with wild caught Bold Jumpers, and moved onto Regal Jumpers. I keep some adults and am working towards breeding them. I had my second successful clutch in June 2022.

THE RATS WHO STARTED IT ALL...
Remy, Rome & RicoRemy, Rome and Rico were my first 3 rats in many many years. They were born into the pet store from a pregnant feeder rat. I watched them grow and eventually took them home. They were quite skittish and did not enjoy handling at all. They were good rats, and they restarted my passion for rats and encouraged me to breed better rats for my community. Although they are no longer around, I have them to thank for all that is Maineiac Mischief Rattery!
