Ruby Himalayan
Although Himalayan is not our goal, it is important to see and understand if and how this gene affects other varieties on the c-locus. Himalayan is our first test as it is the easiest and makes the most sense to start with. See the progress below.
First Generation
First Litter, born 2/21/21 between Ruby Siamese and Albino. Only 2 babies, one male, one female. Female was light, typical of himalayan. Male was off-white, quality himalayan, but not necessarily what I would consider quality for a Ruby Himalayan. Repaired parents in hopes of a larger second litter.
Second Litter, born 5/1/21. Same parents. 8 babies this time, 3 males, 5 females. Color is very nice, 2-3 appear to have the limited highlights on the shoulders, which is something that has been common with Rubies, so hoping they continue to improve. Will separate the promising babies to continue testing when they are older.
Second Generation
Second Generation between the original 2 Himalayan offspring, the male and female siblings, born 5/12/21. Possibility of Albino, Himalayan and Siamese.
